Replacements Reissues This Spring

MatsThe first round of remastered, expanded Replacements reissues will be released on April 22, 2008, according to Billboard. The albums “were prepped for reissue by Replacements manager Peter Jesperson, with involvement from the surviving band members.”

  1. One complaint: there are a few notable omissions from the bonus tracks of material which was even legitimately released which is not on these reissues: “Nowhere Is My Home”, “Hey Good Lookin’ (Live)”, and the entirety of When The Shit Hits The Fans…

    Otherwise, bring ’em on!!

  2. Big time! I agree. “nowhere is my home” is a sad omission. Produced by Alex Chilton no less. Where’s the irony?

Though via my pal Pepper Barry (former LA. roommate of Tommy Stinson.., a tour is gonna happen. How ’bout that?

  3. You mean Axl will let Tommy leave GnR for a spell? I thought that was the reason why he couldn’t be formerly listed on Westerberg’s Mono/Stereo release, something about some insane rule that Axl laid down on all GnR band members. At one time, there’s no doubt that Tommy was getting paid more from GnR than what he would have gotten through a Mats reunion, but now I have to believe that Axl’s going through a little bit of financial strain.

Regardless, these reissues are good news as my original cd pressing of Let It Be has always sucked. Wonder if the Sire stuff will include the mix of Pleased To Meet Me without all the horns and shit.

  4. Does anyone really believe there will be an actual tour? I hate when this rumor starts up. Has anyone heard about Chris touching a drum set in the last several years? I really don’t want to see a Replacements show that isn’t Paul, Tommy, Slim and Chris.
