Sales: But how many Snuggies did they sell?

SnuggieRivers Cuomo has 152,695 followers on Twitter, but not even half of us opted to fork over cash for Weezer’s new album. Last week, Cuomo admitted that he was disappointed with sales estimates of 60-65k, and noted that “if each follower plunked down 3.99 at amazon we’d sell 131,046.” In the week since he posted that, he’s added 20,000 followers but how many new fans? What does that even mean anymore? What is a fan?

I don’t know, but I’m pretty sure Carrie Underwood has a bunch of them. Full disclosure: I voted for her multiple times a week. But I’ve never bought any of her stuff.
