Depends on the band. As you point out, Wilco can get away with it because that's just been Jeff Tweedy's band anyway. Sublime, however, isn't Sublime without Bradley. He was the iconic figure in the band, its best talent, and the guy who wrote almost all the freaking songs. If not for Bradley, Subli...

Does Dinosaur Jr. count? They never really broke up either. I saw them about a month ago and they were awesome. Pavement was a littleeeeee before my time. When they broke up I was 16, so I missed the boat (although I remember seeing the Gold Soundz and Range Life videos on MTV late night). It wasn't...

Yeah, I thought y'all would be totally down on this.

Well, I will likely have two tickets to the fourth show available. I'd rather sell them to a GloNo brother or sister than some fool on StubHub. If I do wind up having the tix I'll post something closer to the show.

Anyway, I got four tickets to the fourth show in NYC. Anyone else going to any of the reunions?

My niece is almost 4 and loves Jay Reatard, because she likes to dance to it and she thinks it's especially silly that he's laying in a bathtub on the cover of the record ( http://penumbrae.files.wordpress.com/2008/12/ole-822-matador-singles-081.jpg ). She also loves "It's 5!" by Architect...

I've been listening closely to "JJ No. 2" by JJ. It's a really good, relaxed beach-y pop album with some electronic stuff thrown in (I know, that sounds like a description for just about every indie album made in the last 5 years). But this one is very good. Like if Air France were an actu...

Re: Falling behind pop culture

I'm not sure about old, but perhaps just gainfully employed. My friends who are new at-home moms know about about this stuff...and Oprah. I don't. I'm not sure if this makes me more or less in touch. Then again I can now pronounce the president of Iran's last name. Yeah, that's it. I'm only 26 and ...
