oh dear...

I think the first record I owned was a birthday present: Donny Osmond's "Disco Train" or something like that! When I had money, I think the first lp I bought might have been The Beatle's "Twist and Shout" . This, btw, was a Canada only release when it first came out.

I think my grey is showing...:)

critical rhetoric

I review records and purposely don't read reviews before I heard the cd. When I finally submit the piece, then ...

Playboy vs Rolling Stone

I'd rather buy Playboy. Better photos, better articles. If I gotta look at naked chicks, they outta be naked. Call it what it is. Fuck Rolling Stone and fuck the mainstream.

Fender, I'm not sure where you're from, so I won't presume anything. However, to your statement "do you really want to be part of American Pop Culture?" I ask, "Do you really have a choice?" You can try and not be, but if you have a day job, if you listen to the radio, if you socialize then you will...

I agree with Prop. If a pop icon makes you think about things differently, how is that trivial? If you think differently about something, who's to say there aren't more people thinking the same thing? If Jello Biafra makes you read the paper more carefully (or at all!), if (god help me)Tragically Hi...

Mario Andretti. And no talks about Kurt Cobain because he's dead. If he was living, they'd talk. Being dead doesn't make you irrelevant. Yes these people, and Reggie Jackson, and Ted Williams, and Mae West are mere cultural icons. Does that make them irrelevant? They contributed to the larger cultur...
