There's a local band around here called Special Ed and the Shortbus. That's a pretty cool name. And depsite the current onslaught of shitty emo bands with names like "Into Falling" and "Sadness Collective," the '80's were a gold mine of bad names. I mean, Johnny Hates Jazz? Romeo Void? The Smiths' "Best" 1 and 2 were good too. And "Louder than Bombs" has some good stuff on it.

I know this is just a matter of opinion, but I though that Yoshimi was a highly overrated album. Elvis Costello deserved to be up there, but while Inerpol was hardly the album of the year, it was a great album. So was Trail of Dead. Give 'em a little credit.

I'm going to pick it up today, and mark my words: the new Sigur Ros CD is going to be one of the albums of the year. Other recent listens: Interpol, Hot Hot Heat, Aloha. All worth picking up.
