I'm not sure if they're still together, but Something For Joey was the best of those weekend Chicago cover bands that I ever heard. They played tight, three-piece versions of 1970s radio hits like Cheap Trick's "Surrender", "Come and Get Your Love" by Redbone, and "Love Rollercoaster". That's just a...

Let's send Ryan Adams money to start his own pirate radio station. That way, he won't need to inundate the market with shoddy records; everything new that he records can find its way to the public's ears through the 1.2 mile-in-diameter radius of his signal, emanating from his bedroom in that $2.5-m...

IDM stands for Intelligent Dance Music. It's a questionable term like so many others in music, but it's come to be the only really accepted way to describe non-danceable dance music like Four Tet, Aphex Twin, Pole, and the like.

The Clash's slutty three-way with Jaguar and Bond for Die Another Day was a damn shame.

That Yorn isn't anywhere near nu-metal, pop-punk, or neo-soul, and yet still has the backing of his label, is a feat. Sure, his music is average at best. But that it's based on a template as seemingly archaic (to the crowd they're positioning him to, anyway) as Springsteen and classic rock has to be...

Believe what you want, Franky, but that ending was straight up Aesop. B-O-R-I-N-G. I'm surprised he didn't liberate the rest of the band from a gingerbread cottage where a old bag with gnarled fingers was preparing a stew to boil them in. The next video will likely be a reimagination of The Fox and ...

I like the single very much; the guitar tone is amazing, and the song does have a Bends quality to it. It might also be harkening back to indie rock's mid-90s heyday. I like the video also. It reminded me of Watership Down , which I will go on record as saying is one of the creepiest, yet coolest, n...
