I might be over-reaching, but I always thought the song had something to do with the vacuous nature of celebrity and the ridiculous things we lionize people for. He's a good pinball player... fast forward... he's a messiah... fast forward, he's a false messiah and must be punished. Well, that's how ...

Got Dinosaur Jr.'s "The Farm" for Christmas and finally gave it a listen. Wow. And this on top of "Beyond," which I also think is pretty great. Has there been another band that reformed and went on to record new music this vital and good? If so, who? I wanna hear it! Other Christmas booty: Teenage F...

Did we piss him off? I always enjoyed his posts. Sometimes they made me scratch my head, but no animosity.

You know, Edie Brickell's last album was really great, and I think her whole catalog is underrated. I rank it right up there with the latest from the Sundays.

"Five Guys Walk Into a Bar" by The Faces is a "how to" on assembling a kick-ass, single artist collection. So very essential.

Hey, there's an ad down below that suggests that "Grand Prix" and "Songs from Northern Britain" have been combined as one release. That is a can't-miss twofer. If physical media helps you give albums a deeper listen, get that twofer ... yesterday.

I am opposed to My Chemical Romance on principle, but damn if some of their songs aren't insanely catchy. Chemical Brothers I've only heard on the radio machine. I guess what I'm saying is, I'm no fucking help on either band. But if I was gonna pick one to explore myself, I think I'd pick Chemical B...

Got into the Fannies with "Bandwagonesque," and that's as good a place to start as any. I think "Catholic Education" is definitely the sound of a band trying to find their way, and Norman's songs are the standouts there. By the time of "Thirteen," the other two songwriters had caught up for the most...
