Hey, I realize that the mix cd has taken the place of the mix tape. However, most of my favorite music is on vinyl and I'm not set up to burn it to cd at the moment. I don't want to cause problems for anyone, but are tapes cool, too?

If so, count me in. If not, maybe next time... Cool idea, though.

When all the names and addresses are gathered, please forward to me. I am sending everyone on the list a little something from the GLONO staff.

And no, it's not herpes.

Count me in. Lord knows there's enough in my archive to make a good mixDisc. I second what Ad says about tragically being unable at the moment to burn vinyl tracks to CD.

I no longer have a cassette deck. So tapes don't work for me.

If you have a turntable as part of a stereo system -- like the kind you would plug into a cassette deck -- all you need to record into your computer is an RCA-to-headphone adapter that you can get at Radio Shack for less than $5.

There is no excuse for not being able to get your vinyl into your computer!

when everyone is randomised you should ask the person which media they want out of what you can provide!

so i'll say: hello random poster!
random: hello trix! how are you!
me: i am well!
ran: that is good!
me: yes!
ran: indeed!
me: eh, so....
ran: yeah...
me: no! i have cd's and minidiscs and tapes!
ran: that is fantabulous!
me: what does that mean?
ran: i'm sorry.
me: thats ok.
ran: its just sometimes i... *sob*
me: oh come now...

oh sorry, got a bit carried away there...

You know what cracks me up? The fact that Nobodygirl checked in the post by hoping that we weren't all "if you are all Serious People Indeed and have Much Better Things To Do With Your Time..."

We spend damn near every day reading and posting about music. That's fucking funny to think that anyone on this site would fit that bill.

ps - tapes suck.

Prop, sully not the archaic charm and hissy splendor that is cassette tape. I was flirting with the idea of making a mix tape on my boombox so that I could appear all lo-fi and shit... then it struck me what a truly horrible idea that is.
