I read in an interview with Kurt Cobain that it was about a rapist who goes to prison and gets raped himself.
Kurt was known to say his songs were about somebody else to mask what they really were about--which was his own life and experiences.
If you are a fan you should read "Come As You Are" by Michael
Azzerad(probably spelled completely wrong). Michael was a writer from Rolling Stone who got quite close to Kurt while writing the book. Unfortunately mistreatment by shoddy journalists (and probably too many drugs) caused Kurt to eventually shut out Michael too.

Agreed that it works on many levels and it can mean what you want it to mean. However it is lyrically and musically very simple so I think it meant something very specific to Kurt. I think songs that are simple yet great and touch people are the sign of true genius, like Neil Young's "Heart of Gold". However I don't think "Rape Me" is among Kurt's best work.
It's simply him venting.

Nobody has yet mentioned - "Spoonful" by Willie Dixon. Howlin' Wolf did it best IMHO.

Could fill spoons full of diamonds,
Could fill spoons full of gold.
Just a little spoon of your precious love
Will satisfy my soul.

What about "Afternoon Delight" by the Starland Vocal Band?

Thinkin' of you's workin' up my appetite
Looking forward to a little afternoon delight
Rubbin' sticks and stones together makes the sparks ingite
and the thought of rubbin' you is getting so exciting
