Chambers Brothers' "Time Has Come Today" - a classic
Tommy James & the Shondells "Crimson & Clover" - another classic; great mood

Yeah, I'm watching the Philly and Tampa Bay game w/ an A&W add featuring the T-James song. Now I want a burger; my left over KD sucks.

Hotel Arizona-Wilco

My favorite pause:

"hello? Can you hear me?(pause) Hello? That's all there is..all there is..."

Doesn't Spinal Tap have a song with a punctuated pause?

Ween loves to play with that pause. "Demon Sweat" off the Pod, "the fucked jam" off the new one, those guys just love to make you think the song is over and then torture you with more. When a Ween song comes back after the pause it is seriously like Jason coming back at the end of Friday the 13th, you know it's coming, but it still surprises you... and it's usually covered in slime.

Math rock is all about the pauses. Any Don Cab, Shiner, Rodan, or US Maple song is going to have about 20 pauses in them each.

'You say I ain't worth a dollar but I feel like a millionaire' by QOTSA has a hilarious pause at the end. There's a few songs on that album that do that, actually.

Speaking of which, how's about you go update that thread with your final tracklist? I'm sure we'd all be interested.

Big Audio Dynamite/Rush

A couple cool ones in there

Another one that technically is not a pause (though the music drops out dramatically) but pretty much does the same thing is Weezer/Only in Dreams.

INXS/Need You Tonight: "I've got to let you know.....You're one of my kind."

I may be kicked off glono forever for this one, but I'm listening to this song right now = Hall & Oates, "She's Gone" Big dramatic musical build-up then a pause..."She's Go-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-ne, Oh I better learn how to face it"
Sorry people am radio has found a temporary facination for me.
