Or is it still too early? I'm still compiling my list, but I'm surprised no one has brought this up yet. Any suggestions for the Best of 2004?

The official article type thing is coming out Monday. A bird told me, or something.
speaking from a (most) non-official capacity,
nbg.

There should be rules to this type of thing. I'm of the opinion that entries need to be released between 1/1/04-12/31/04 and no "best of 2004" list can take place until 1/1/05. We need to be fair, even though there may not be any worthy candidates for inclusion the rest of the year. But whatever. I'm retarded like that.

hope it's not a top 10 list... while i've purchased way more than 10 cds this year, i don't think even 10 came out this year... i've been picking up a lot of stuff that i shoulda had already had but didn't...

7) Saturday Looks Good to Me - Every Night
8) The Soviettes - LP II

Though obviously I have a few seconds thoughts.

Yeah I was gonna ask about this last week, but I figured it was too early. I made my mental list. I say that SMiLE is my pick for best record (after all I listened to it the longest - that counts right??). Kanye makes my list too, along with the secret machines, Loretta Lynn, and the walkmen. Yes that Fiery Furnaces record is the most overated - and the Arcade Fire aren't on my list either. I wanna see what my fellow Glo-Noer's choose for their record of the year. This is fun... pointless, but fun.

I've been thinking about picking that one up. I've only heard that song "The Swish" off their site, and thats a great song. It was ranked on the PopMatters list as well. ...it looks like i gotta get it now.

It's definitely worth picking up. I actually wrote the blurb for Almost Killed Me on the popmatters list. This list is the same one I submitted to pm.
