How to Speak Hip

Crack their code: the words kids don't want you to know

Ah, too funny. Sort of like "How to Speak Hip" from 1959.

But "Ohnosecond"? Dude, I'm pretty sure that was in the first edition of Sniglets...

Dry
Tedious. "Maths was dry."
This is old. We used this in high school ages ago.

anybody want to biPod that new modest mouse album with me?

oh, and beyond that ridiculousness, i think their definition of emo is outdated, at least in US slang. here in CA at least, it's already progressed beyond the simple (nebulous) musical genre and its proponents to describe anyone who is emotional/depressed.

That sounds like such a dirty oxymoron.

ETA: I just realized that I should bookmark this and send it to our kids' lit editor. Though stupid, it may prove to be a good resource.

Shit, by most of your definitions I'm still a kid, and I'm hop, and I haven't heard of most of those.

Those Brits are crazy folk.

More than a few of the ones I recognized, by the way, I only know from repeated listenings to The Streets.
