CBGBS today

Post by russ »

Walked past where the old CBGBS was today and saw that it's now THE MORRISSON HOTEL which is a HUGELY overpriced store where you can buy clothes and retro styled stereos, and all sorts of things that only a rich person can buy. $600 boots. $300 coffee table books. It was so weird to be standing in the same place that was a grimy hole in the wall ( and what a lovely hole in the wall it was!) that is now so freshly scrubbed and polished, with price tags so high. On one hand, the vintage framed posters on the walls were great, but I don't know a single person that could afford a single thing in there.

for some reason the pic is loading huge.

Unfortunately your text is cut off, but I get the idea. Did they glass over the posters? Do I see suit jackets? Sigh. Glad I got there when I did.

I think I'm getting the idea now.

They have quite the website:
http://www.morrisonhotelgallery.com/
Some great pictures there.

Actually, that website may also be the model for quasarwutwut...very subdued, very artistic, not very expensive. It's a win!

Darn it russ, you've messed up the wrapping!
:-)

What I meant to say was, there are some
great pictures there, particularly in the
"Bands and People" section.
