NONE MORE LIVE
Friends, after 6 years and countless shows far and wide, it is with mixed feelings that we tell you that Riviera will no longer be playing live shows. We've had great times traveling the country meeting many of you and playing with other bands we admire and respect. From opening for Jeff Tweedy at the Vic in Chicago, to opening for Jay Farrar in Des Moines. From the CD releases and GLONO shows with our labelmates Quasar Wut Wut, to getting run out of town after Mick unplugged the gear of a particularly bad comedy-musical group.it's been a blast.

But all good things must come to an end and interest in our live shows has waned. It's no longer financially feasible nor emotionally rewarding to lug our asses (not to mention our gear) from club to club in the hopes that 20 people show up.

We do have a batch of new material that we love and will record in the coming months for a web-only release. After that, who knows.?

Adios

So can we expect your next album to be your Sgt. Pepper's?

Sorry to hear it you guys, but while a band is great, music goes on anyhow if you want it to. (I've known lots of talented musicians who've, as one of them said, got tired of banging their heads against a wall of indifference, but continue to make music in ways that please them, even if not for crowds.) Good luck for your next musical adventures. So go bake bread and play mommy, then go to Bermuda in five years and make a new album. Look at the bright side: Few Bildungsroman-wielding nutcases will have any idea who you are!
