Oh, I posted this earlier and I forgot to post that mine was
'Love Is Blue' by Paul Mauriat.
Its a baroque style instrumental that you might actually know if you heard it, and you're a nerd like me.

:O)

from Google:
Paul Mauriat's 1968 cover of Andre Popp's "Love is Blue" was the first instrumental to hit #1 on the U.S. Billboard chart since the Tornados hit with "Telstar" in 1962. Mauriat might be considered the last big star of the space age pop era, given his success with "Love is Blue" and its accompanying album, Blooming Hits and his essentially traditional easy listening approach to 1960s pop hits. -

Maybe this is why I was destined to write many syrupy ballads?

Listen to Al Green's version. You'll never be the same.

"Monday Monday" by The Mamas and the Papas
At least it wasn't "California Dreamin" when they slapped my ass and I started screamin' on such a springtime day.

My special lady got "The Letter" by the Box Tops.

I doubt ol' Corey made either the UK or the US charts. Only in Canada, you say? Count your blessings.

Hey, that ain't too shabby. Sugary pop for sure, but a fuck lot better than Saturday Night Fever. Beats Engy any day of the week.
