Pop band nostalgia...

Postby BloodshotBaby » Wed Nov 15, 2006 12:53 pm

Ok, this is really wierd but, lately I've been REALLY nostalgic for some bubblegum pop from 5th grade....

For some reason I just want to listen to the Spice Girls in all of their girl group glory.

I was never even that into them back in the day...but my friends were.

And I know that they're not the greatest music out there but, damn, "Wannabe" used to make me so happy.

Does anyone else ever get this feeling? It's like a guilty pleasure...but different...ish.

Next time you run into Mr. Derek Phillips, ask him to sing you his version of "Wannabe." It's filthy. I'd write out the lyrics but they're better in person. Plus, I don't want to go to jail.

By the way, that's called nostalgia. And apparently you're just getting old enough to start feeling it. Enjoy it. It can be warm and soothing.

getting old..that song came out after i graduated high school...
then again theres gonna be some oldie on here thats gonna say THEIR KID was in 5th grade when that came out
old is ok though
in the Bay Area a few years ago there was a guy called Grampa who would go to the "hardcore" punk shows, he was the grandpa of a drummer in a band called Lack Of Interest I think and THAT guy was older than most of the kids at teh show!

The Backstreet Boys were The Beatles of boy bands.
They had the songs and they had the hooks.
N'Sync were like Jerry and The Pacemakers compared to Backstreet.
So Timberlake becoming a solo star is like if fuckin' Jerry went on to do the same thing.
