  1. As a band, selling the show you’ve just performed is a quick and easy way to make a few extra bucks. One of the best parts about it is there is no loss of sound quality, as with audience microphone recordings.

    One great aspect of bands like Phish (music aside, I don’t want to get into that debate), is the fact that they allow audience taping, free of charge.

    However, the quality of these soundboard downloads is precisely what makes them so great. I saw Phish in July and downloaded the 2 shows. It was surely worth the money. The process was kind of annoying because I have dialup at home, but other than that, I was very pleased with the music and the money spent.

    How could a band go wrong? Many bands’ strongest moments are live, I say spread the word. Just as long as Clear Channel isn’t getting all or the majority of the profits, I say more power to ’em.
