Man. Remember when MTV stopped showing videos and it seemed like the end of music videos as an art form? It certainly seemed like the end of big budget productions, and maybe that’s not such a bad thing since LA was suddenly littered with hair metal washouts loaded to the gills in debt that labels would never, ever recoup.
Well, now we have YouTube and Vimeo and MySpace video channels and a host of video editing software that lowers the financial bar to make cool little movies. Case in point: Freelance Whales‘ new one for “Generator 2nd Floor.” Not only is this a tight little sing-song of a number, but the accompanying video features dudes in Mexican skull masks and ponchos playing music to a cutie in the woods. What’s not to love?
