Yes, we are reactionary and proud of it!
In case people are wondering what Phil is talking about, our access logs have indicated some that someone from treas.gov (Department of Treasury) recently stumbled upon Glorious Noise while searching Google for “ripping lp to mp3” and someone from goa.gov (General Accounting Office) got here after searching for “the strokes mp3.” We’re not really sure whether the Man is trying to keep an eye on sites distributing this information, or if it’s just some lackey intern rocking out on the Taxpayer’s dime. But conspiracy theories are welcome… Bring them on!
My theory is that it’s someone who works the government who also happens to be into music. I think you are being unfair calling them “government hacks” — though perhaps just joking around! :)
Nope, They’re up to something. They want to track us and our thoughts. I have made a tinfoil hat to keep Them from prying into my thoughts and stealing my patents. I suggest, for the good of the Nation and all that is right, that you also affix the foil hat to your dome. You have no idea what They’re like.
yeah, those guys from the departments of accounting and the treasury are definitely tracking our thoughts. I would be more worried about a couple of girls from psychiatry.
“our access logs have indicated some that someone from treas.gov (Department of Treasury) recently stumbled upon Glorious Noise while searching Google for “ripping lp to mp3” and someone from goa.gov (General Accounting Office) got here after searching for “the strokes mp3.” -who’s trackin’ who?
Ha. Good point,WiLLeM. I’ve been working on a Glorious Noise privacy statement. Basically, we use the traffic stats from http://www.thecounter.com and http://www.stats4all.com . You can see what kind of info is available: OS, browser, referrer, IP address, screen resolution, etc.Jake
The GAO is probably some yuck on an internship, but Dept. of Treasury? Hell, that could be anyone and my patents aren’t safe until they’re stopped. We can throw them off by cooking a steak in the microwave until it explodes. The heat and smell of burning flesh usually confuses them for an hour or so. Don thy tinfoil hat!
everyone just calm down.
