I gotta be honest. I don’t really know what the Red Cross actually does. But everybody seems to think it’s a good cause. I hope so. I searched Google for “red cross scandal” and the only incriminating evidence I found was them giving some HIV-tainted blood to a bunch of people a while ago. So hopefully they won’t squander the money on coctails and first-class hotel rooms for their board of directors…
It’s probably better than squandering the money on cocktails and first-class hotel rooms for ourselves…
While there is undoubtedly no organization that is holier than thou, near as I can tell, the Red Cross does all kinds of good in thankless places. Hell, I think that if any of us faced the horrors that these people (the Red Cross workers, at least) face on an all-too-routine basis, I think that there wouldn’t be enough cocktails in the world.
