Say what you will about Noel Gallagher, but whenever I’ve seen him interviewed he’s always lucid and interesting and surprisingly candid. Sure, he’s made some records where the Columbian marching powder is making all the decisions and he slathers on a symphony orchestra and fifteen choruses when three would have done just fine. But I’m always impressed by Noel’s frankness and (dare I say) humility and occasional nuggets of wisdom.
Damon Albarn, not so much.
Blur rules. (period)
