The Day the Aliens Came or Hawaiian Feeling
Straight from John Darnielle: “There will be 1000 copies pressed. The covers are going to be handmade – I’ll be receiving the LPs in blank sleeves, then messing with them in various ways. I predict that I will rue the day I had this idea somewhere around the 115th sleeve, and that the lucky thousandth sleeve will feature near-illegible curse words in faded Sharpie script. I have been debating whether to tuck various surprises into random copies – original drafts of lyrics, say – but the first person who attempts, at a show, to go through a bunch of the sleeves to see which one’s the most eBayable will be promptly shot between the eyes and his corpse dragged from town to town as a warning to others. Yes, actually, I do listen to a lot of death metal, why do you ask?”
Note: these will not be available on the upcoming tour (March — early April) but on the following tour that will begin in late April.
The ‘Goatheads out there might also be interested in the upcoming reissues of the long-sought first two Mountain Goats records, “Nothing for Juice” and “Zopilote Machine.”

No Chicago dates on the first leg of the tour? Looks like I’m drivin’ to Beloit.
How are these guys live? I may also have to make the trip to Beloit. I’ve heard some of their stuff in the past and enjoyed it.
Well, I’m a superfan, so I’m driving to Beloit, but there’ll no doubt be a Chicago show in May.
New dates added, including a show at the Logan Square Auditorium in Chicago. That’s like, walking distance from my apartment, yo, and I’m still gonna go to WI.

So, over at mountain-goats.com, I notice that JD says the albums will be available for sale on the tour and also through select mail-order outlets. I’ll only be able to see ’em on the pre-release tour, so does anyone have any idea what those mailorder outlets might be?
Alright, ’cause I love the GLOno faithful,

Will be one of the outlets, and you can supposedly get a place in line right now. As for other ones, I’m not sure. Perhaps Aquarius Records?
Never mind–answered my own question. They’ll be available from moops music.
Jinx!
