Neil Young’s Archives finally start trickling in

Billboard: “Neil Young is finally ready to roll out releases from his long-rumored Archives Performance series. First up is Live at the Fillmore East 1970, due Nov. 14 via Reprise. The album features six as-yet-unannounced selections from Crazy Horse’s March 6-7 runs at the New York venue, at a time when late guitarist Danny Whitten was still a member of the band.”

Wait a minute. Six selections? Six? We’ve waited all these years for the Archives and we get six songs? What the fuck, Neil? Why you wanna tease us like that, daddy? Just give it the fuck up already!

Seriously. Joel Bernstein, dude, you’ve got to convince Neil to stop hoarding this shit and let us have it…

  1. Haha. Those were exactly my thoughts when I first heard about this Jake.

Maybe Neil has decided to release his Archives piece by piece like Dylan did… but even the Bootleg Series started with a box set (Vol 1-3).

    Arrrgggghhh!

  2. I went on to amazon to see what the setlist might be. Found this link among the discussion http://www.sugarmtn.org/years/70nysets.html . Scroll down to the March 1970 shows. You might get an idea of what will be on the collection. Also, some of the discussion on amazon speculated that a few of the six tracks are going to be long playing medleys.

  3. Tracklisting is :

    Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere

    Winterlong

    Down By The River

    Wonderin’

Come On Baby Let’s Go Downtown

    Cowgirl In The Sand

There is DVD Audio version with photos etc ( no video of show)
