New White Stripes Video

Jack's big sister, MegWatch the new video for “Icky Thump” at AOL. Meg’s got fantastic red hair, and tarts herself up to look like a one-eyed Mexican prostitute. Jack plays a wasted gringo whoremonger. Pretty great.

Icky Thump is due June 19 on Warner Bros.

It was five years ago yesterday that Glorious Noise put Jack and Meg’s marriage license online. How time flies!

White Stripes – “Icky Thump”

Note: the version at AOL looks much better.

Meg and “Jack” discuss Icky Thump

Elsewhere, Jack talks about signing to a major label:

“We were leery for a long time … we’d never had the trust in us to do it,” he says. “It would have been a bad idea to do that on ‘White Blood Cells.’ We had them all offering it then. But I think it would have been over very quickly for us. We would have been a new flavor of the week and probably would have been a one-hit wonder with ‘Fell in Love With a Girl.'”

“For the 10th anniversary of this band, we’re going to play the 16 states we’ve never played before,” frontman Jack White tells Billboard.com. “And, we’re going to play every province and territory in Canada — I don’t know if it’s ever been done. We’re going to play all the places we haven’t been, and that’s really appealing to us.”

You’ve got to love the idea of Jack and Meg bringing rock and roll to the eskimos and reindeer of the Great White North. They’re missionaries.

  1. That was awesome. Meg’s grill looks good too. There’s a part towards the end when she sticks her tounge out and then smiles at Jack as she’s drumming.

Not only is it sexy, but it looked like she had some dental work done. But it’s hard to tell.

  2. I don’t know why, but I find myself oddly attracted to Jack White.

Except for when he decides to experiment with facial hair that makes him look like a pedophile. (I’m glad to see that’s gone!)

  3. damn! a white stripes song that i actually like. i’m getting even more excited for this record. thanks. good video. i love the part at the end.
