Best Band Logos Revealed

Aerosmith

The Spinner staff list their favorite band logos. Some classics like Aerosmith, Metallica, and The Ramones appear, as well as a few upstarts like the Scissor Sisters. Their #1 pick is sure to roll eyes and incite angry emails.

1. Prince (“As a form of protest against his record label, Prince felt the need to abandon his moniker. In 1993, he adopted his logo, which he termed the ‘Love Symbol’ and incorporates the glyphs for Mars (male) and Venus (female), as his actual — and unpronounceable — name. He even turned it into several custom guitars.”)

[Since AOL shuttered Spinner in 2013, I don’t feel bad about reproducing their entire listicle 18 years later. You can still see it via the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine but I figured I’d save you a click…or 21 clicks. Goddamn listicles. Don’t miss them, that’s for sure. -ed. 3/18/2024]

  1. What – no dancing bears???

Actually, their #1 pick makes some sense. And Iron Maiden definitely gets my vote for favorite font. I keep waiting for it to show up in an MS Word update.

They missed the Pink Floyd “hammer” logo.
