Album Sales: Down, Down, Down

Bill boredThe most compelling bit of info from Billboard’s album sales article this week: “Overall album sales in this past chart week (ending April 11) totaled 5.27 million units, down 23% compared to the sum last week (6.84 million) and down 33% compared to the comparable sales week of 2009 (7.83 million).” That’s the lowest I remember seeing it. 1. Gee I don’t get it – just look at all of those quality musicians there in the top ten – sheesh.

  2. Seriously, no wonder the record industry is suffering. Everything that’s “popular” these days is garbage. Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings and maybe Jonsi are the only real, listenable artists up there!
