‘Of Montreal’? They get my vote for Incredibly Wickedly Stupid Band Name. Countless bands have been named after cities big and small – I realize that. But come on – the ‘Of’ screams pretentiousness. Are they any good? I wouldn’t know and have zero desire to find out.
It ain’t a great name, but it’s nowhere near the worst. Jonathan, you are missing out on a pretty eclectic and rewarding catalog. Check out the stream.
Fair enough I guess – I will re-open my mind and check them (him) out.
The Robert Plant project sounds quite nice – he’s developed into a very subtle vocalist, and a lot of this sounds as fresh as his Zeppelin days, without the rock ‘n’ roll caterwauling. Good’un, Percy.
