A new film charting the events leading up to KURT COBAIN's death is set to be released.

Only recently managed to see Nick Broomfields "Kurt & Courtney" which was interesting to say the least, particularly how the direction of the movie kind of morphed and changed as the whole thing unfolded. There seems to be a lot of messed up people involved. Love's Dad in particular seems like a complete loon. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree it seems. Don't agree with the conspiracy theorists out there who reckon Love orchestrated the whole thing but do believe that she did, in part, contribute to driving the poor guy nuts. Her previous boyfriend (that dude from Portland) seemed particularly bitter but then he's gonna be biased anyway. I reckon Van Sant's movie should be worth a look then. That's if Courtney doesn't disapprove and uses her "influence" to prevent its distribution.

This guy makes some good films.

Elephant is one of my favorite films from the past year. And dispite the criticism, I thought Psycho was really good.

His odd voyeristic style could make this one painful to watch. Elephant was that way. You knew what was going to happen and all you wanted to do was scream "get out of there"

GVS is a great director, but I was really disappointed with that movie, actually. It felt too much like I was watching an after school special. I'll be sure to check out the Cobain movie though. It would be interesting to see if it's release coincided with the release of the Ian Curtis movie.

A double feature of suicide, back to back showings of Cobain's grizzly end and Curtis's slip into the oblivion.

My god, that would put me right back into my "The Cure, Pornography" goth-depression phase.

I don't think I could handle that.......Not the movies, but listening to Pornography over and over again for 6 straight months.

I got into a Quadrophenia/Bacardi funk the winter before Kurt killed himself. Living in an attic apartment, basically alone, for 9 months with NO money and a lot of records and free Rum. Good times...

Mr. D Philips I have a whole new respect for your username. Not b/c of anything to do with your bacardi mind you, but b/c one time I was “basically alone” too. Thing is, I guess I’m one of those ‘glass is half-empty’ types b/c I must have tried to commit suicide like 7 or 8 times by slicing my veins open w/ the edge of Nirvana cds.

I’ve since found out that the “major labels” and corporations that design cds make it so you can’t slit your veins with them. Plus, I kept doing it on my cist. My bad. I didn’t know you’re supposed to cut your “wrists.”

Anyway, I fucking cut the shit out of that cist, right?

This is a great support group. I tried to off myself once. I was listening to my favorite Ozzy CD, and this song came on, called "Suicide Solution." I never considered suicide before, but after listening to this song I was like, "All right! Let's do it! Suicide! Yeah!" Then I took a running start and tried to run my head through the TV set, cause that would have looked really cool, but I just got a bump on the ol' noggin.
